Following your advice I shall be going with the thinner 13 ribbed versions with spacers.

I think RS's look strange without them on, plus I live in NZ where it get's pretty messy in the bush!

What options are available to raise and move back the bars on a 89 RS? I am currently looking to buy a R100/7 with 57,000 miles on it.

Is there anything in particular to check out on it? Gearbox / engine / telling noises etc?
