Why take the starter out? All tests can be done with it in place.
First (and most basic) test is trying it with 'known good' battery and booster cables.
Why open a can of worms if it's not necessary?

Re: another starter problem

Carefully check that your main battery cables are good from end to end. If both cables are solid, try boosting it with your car.
Sounds like a bad starter or a dud 'new' battery.

Re: R100RS centre stand repair.

Slight downhill parking, I tend to use the sidestand and first gear. Beginner biker 101: Nose down is an open invitation to a tip-over. Bikes pointed uphill don't tip over. Never count on your engine's compression to prevent the bike from rolling forwards. Even the tightest engine will slowly bleed...

I would 'adjust' it with a strategically placed hammer blow.

Re: starter issue

Your switch (starter button) or your starter relay is probably faulty. Small possibility is that the solenoid itself is faulty, but that type of failure is quite rare. Pull the black wire off the starter solenoid terminal and assure yourself that the starter works normally when you jump that solenoi...

Re: R100RS centre stand repair.

Getting it off the stand is now very easy. I won't be using it with the bike pointed downhill at all. It'll be perfect for a slight slope with the front pointing up hill. My advice...File a bit off the stand top edges so it sinks back a bit more than it does now when on the stand. It has to be supe...

Re: REAL FLA$HERS, no more $2 bulbs for me.

Interesting... I think the Weiser units might have issues with a stock flasher unit. Most pre-electronic flashers rely on the current drawn by the indicator bulbs to control the flash rate. 2 x 21w incandescent bulbs + a 3w repeater in parallel equals a total of 45w meaning a current drain at a nom...

Re: REAL FLA$HERS, no more $2 bulbs for me.

Do they work correctly with the stock flasher unit or do you have to fit a LED rated flasher? Rob The Weiser lights have no built-in flash function. The turn signal is triggered by power from the bike's flasher relay. The stock flasher relay should work fine, as the lights are sold as plug'n'play r...

REAL FLA$HERS, no more $2 bulbs for me.

quad.jpeg I was doing a few final tasks on the ol' PD, getting it ready for its first spring ride, when I suddenly decided I needed to have the planet's absolute best and brightest tail/stop/turn/DRL lights. Anyway, I was sorta bored with the 1157 LEDs I've had for years so I whipped out the Master...
