Re: Sold my RS

My wife shares my passion for music, motorcycles, and model railroading. You let a girl play with your train set? I used to play with a train set that had 3000 hp locos. She's not yet......... I have not built anything yet. The plans are to build a replica of our town circa 1947. ...

Re: Sold my RS

. . . my problem is all of my hobbies are TOO expensive!!! Maybe I need to give myself a raise. ;) Nah! I think it's just the opposite, as in all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The ultimate goal, I submit, is to acquire all the hobbies you can while working just enough to support them. Now...

Re: Reasonable Shipper?

Thanks for the replies. The new owner used a guy named Casey Johnson, and he loaded the RS up in his trailer and away they went.

Reasonable Shipper?

Just curious if anyone has had dealings with a good shipper for bikes. The buyer of my RS is needing it shipped from WV to GA and has been going through U-Ship, which has been a disaster. Any thoughts would be appreciated, and I will pass the information on to the seller.
Thanks!!

Yes, I know I can have more than one hobby, my problem is all of my hobbies are TOO expensive!!! Maybe I need to give mys...

Sold my RS

Just wanted to say I sold the RS and will be bike-less for a bit. I did get a 4 valve Yamaha instead (YBB-631) so as you can tell my interests have shifted gears a bit. ;)

Re: 80s v 90s r100rs?

I have owned two 1988 boxers, and I love the handling of the mono shock models over the twin shock models. I also like the fact that refinements have been made and I don't have to worry about rear axle splines and the issues with them. That said, the older models ARE smoother, with more flywheel and...

Re: What Do You Think the Odds of a Transmission Failure?

I have an 88 R-100RS that just turned 126,000 miles. At about 120,000 miles I had the "noise" indicating bearing issues in my transmission. I took the bike to Morton's BMW and they replaced all of the bearings, checked the transmission, and cut the groove in the shaft and installed the cir...

Voltmeter/Brake Lights??

My 88 R-100RS has developed a "new" issue. When I apply either the front OR rear brake and the brake light switch is making contact, my voltmeter pegs to the far left and the brake light more often than not will not illuminate. Brake light bulb is good. I suspect a common ground point, but...

Re: How to bed new rings ?

Generally you want to "cycle" the new parts with a lot of heat up and cool down cycles. Ride a bit and shut the bike off to allow it to "cool" for a bit. Avoid lugging the engine, and also avoid a continuous rpm on the highway. You want to VARY the rpms and not put too much of a ...
