Re: Oil Leak at Gear Selector (R75/6)

"... it was bigger because it had been squashed into shape when the gear selector was tightened." So long as it works, then all is well, but that seal should NOT change shape when installed, and should not have any pressure on it from the shifter lever, so either something is very wrong, ...

Re: Oil Leak at Gear Selector (R75/6)

One note: I just did this job on my bike (I'd changed out the shifter screw for a stainless one, moved nothing but the screw itself, and it leaked like a sieve afterward - go figure!). 1. Re: Which O Ring?

... it seems like a waste to spend $5-$10 just in case. You can get them from you-know-where for about $5-6 for fifty of each size, or $8-12 for an assortment box. Granted, you're still out $5-10, but you'll have O-rings for the rest of your life. There's also a decent chance that you local real ha...

Re: Crossover Pipe

I'm no expert, but I'm stumped. I've never seen a flared one. BMW only lists one part from 1970 through 1984 (18111230638), without exceptions for S, CS, RS, RT, etc., so the ones on the larger pipes are the same (as you'd expect them to be). https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?id=0250-EUR-02-1973...

Re: BMW tech bulletins. What have you got?

Dirk, I am ASSuming you have a PC, but if you have a Mac, their viewing software can re-save any picture as a pdf. My suggestion would be to upload the lot to a "free" filesharing site, like "4Shared" and then post the address. Typically, a "free" site will allow you to...
