I have that setup. Mine works fine but I did have interference caused by unsuppressed plug caps. Swapped them and all is well.

Re: 1975 R90/6 high idle after carburetor rebuild
There should be a nylon button on the end of the screw so no wear should occur.

Re: 1975 R90/6 high idle after carburetor rebuild
Thanks lads, I'll have a look. It is a hard stop at wide open, it's just fully closed that has 'bounce' in it.
I did wonder if it and my hot engine braking are linked, but I can't see how. This is so frustrating. I've never had this problem on any bike - airhead or otherwise.

Re: 1975 R90/6 high idle after carburetor rebuild
Hi Barry, Could you explain 'from the top' the correct method of adjusting the throttle cables, and explain how they could affect tickover given that the op says he has slack at the twistgrip please. This is a genuine question, I'm not being silly. Chz, Andrew. When the carbs have been set up and a...

Re: Voltage regulator questions
I'm a bit surprised that Rob didn't tell you about his earth bypass mod. It is excellent and may be worth investigating first as it is easy. Basically, it works because these old bike rely on a low resistance between the earthing point of the diode board and the torturous route to the battery negati...

Re: Float adjustment
My bike runs rich thought the range. I weighed the floats and they both seem to be around 12.5 (ISH) gms on cheapy electronic kitchen scales. I put a clear float bowl on with the carbs fitted and the levels are a couple of mm below the gasket face on the forward (lower) edge of the float bowl. Does ...
