Front forks 1982 R100
R100 ex police which is probably akin to R100RT Just put new seal on a front fork, had the lower slider off for a week, replaced everything and put 225ml oil in. Is any oil retained in the top section that would not have drained out, because a wire dipstick shows about 14" and I thought I saw so...

Re: Bean can problem
You seem a bit upset,
it is obvious that something is wrong because mechanically the two pins should not bear on the washer, I asked the question because I thought some one may know what.
I have now rectified the problem but thank you for your helpful input.

Re: Bean can problem
There is a fibre washer and the metal shim on that shaft on the inside of the can (where I have placed that shim in the picture)and a few under the coupling on the outside of the can.which seems to mean that those two moving pins rub on the shim washer while in operation. if this is the case the pl...

Bean can problem
I pulled bean can to bits, replaced sender but am a bit perplexed putting it back together, The two pins that move in a slot on the advance and retard stick out and rub on the shim washer between case and assembly the two pins will not go flush, the circlip on the opposite end stops this. http://i40....

Centre stand
1982 R100 Any ideas on how to make the horrible centre stand workable?
Alteration, modifications etc
I have been putting up with it for 25 years or more but am now getting old and have trouble physically lifting the whole bike weight up on to it.
