Looking at the picture of the screws, someone really cranked hard on the stainless one. Look at the damage to the screwdriver slot.

Re: Wheel Sizes on 1989 R100RT Touring
Before you order, a couple things. Make sure your bike has clearance for larger tires Larger tires tend to slow the handling and make steering heavier. If you get wider tires with a lower aspect ratio so your overall diameter is about the same, the tire will want to lift the bike as the bike leans, ...

Re: Neutral Light stays on when clutch pulled in
Diode on the back of the fuse block in the headlight is bad.
The starter is able to be engaged when either the transmission is in neutral or the clutch lever is pulled. The diode is there to prevent the power from the clutch lever switch to feed the neutral light.

Re: R65LS - idle rising when ridden
Many years ago I had a similar problem (faster idle when warm) and found spigot into the head was loose causing a vacuum leak. When the engine is hot, try rotating the carb on the spigot. It shouldn’t move. Just another thing to easily check.

Re: '78 R80/7 backfiring on deceleration
I would still keep an eye on the spark plugs, especially after a high speed run. The adjustment you made is for idle only. Mix and high speed mixture is controlled by the main jet and needle. If you had to enrich the idle mixture, chances are you’d need to enrich the higher speed circuits.

Re: '78 R80/7 backfiring on deceleration
Is the exhaust stock?
Changes to the exhaust cause change to back pressure which can impact mixture. Less restrictive exhaust often causes popping while decelerating.

Re: Breaking News - My Breaks Dont Work
I’m assuming you have a master cylinder under the gas tank. They tilt upwards at the front and can trap air. Unstrap the hose clamp that attaches it to the frame. Then tilt the back upwards and slowly pump the brakes. You should see bubbles coming out of the holes in the master.

Re: Better Airhead RS Mirrors
I bought a second pair of OEM mounts and drilled them out for a pair of NLA Napoleon mirrors. Should have lubricated more while I was drilling as it heated the metal enough to spin in the plastic mount. Put a nut under it. Done again, I'd due it more slowly with oil cooling. Then tap it with the app...
