Five grooves across aluminum rims, bead lube
Looking from the tube's point of view, the circa 1962 aluminum rim has five ridges within slightly less than half the rim's circumference. As these might somewhat affect how the tire beads fall into the drop center during mounting, is there any recommendation on where to begin the tire removal or in...

"Baby Powder"= Talc + Scent OK for tube/tire?
("Baby Powder"= Talc + Scent OK for tube/tire?) Been working off the same plastic bottle of it for bicycle tubes for about 20 years. Some use talc. Some don't. (I found one case without where a rough textured tire carcass interior seemed to abrade a leak into the tube. Thinking talc may mi...

Re: R27 250cc Cylinder bore hone carbide? preparation? BoreT
Once on an air-cooled VW, I think, I pulled a plug with part of porcelain (from around center electrode) missing. Seems such would be hard and sharp and could groove a cylinder wall.

R27 250cc Cylinder bore hone carbide? preparation? BoreTech
(R27 250cc Cylinder bore hone carbide? preparation ? BoreTech) Any down side to the optional carbide treatment? Cylinder has two pressed in chrome pushrod tubes and an oil supply tube. Do these need removed for bore/hone/carbide? Grooves in bore make me think prior owner's spark plug may have failed...
