Re: Pushrod towers leaking
Thanx guys! I guess I'll do a refresh on the top end this winter. It's never been touched, so It should come apart easily. I'll go through all my parts stash and see if the tower seals are still supple. I guess there is no way of knowing how long new seals have been stored anyway. IMGP2760 copy 2.JPG

Re: Pushrod towers leaking
How would I know how old the new seals are? Best from a OEM dealer?

Pushrod towers leaking
1984 R100 70,000K Original owner My left boot gets oil on it when first riding. Once I've ridden for a while it stops. I've tried pushing them in the past and it helped a bit. Can anybody suggest a tool for this? Engine has never been apart and runs well, holds valve lash. I've had replacement seals...

ethanol CH3CH2OH
What problems are airheads having with this stuff.
I’m in British Columbia Canada.
Used to be, I could buy non ethanol gas from certain stations.
The government has now forced all fuel to have it.
So far I've had no problems with my 84 R00.
Any thoughts on preventing problems?
Thanks!

Re: Head Retorquing
I think a lot of stud pulling out problems is because folks don't understand that you have to loosen the nut you are check before re-torquing. They just eventually pull out.

I use a Browns with no problem. I kept the original on as well, on uneven pavement it can be useful.

Hard to argue with your choice.
But ...if a mint blue touring tanked R90/6 with a proper dual front disc showed up I would really be tempted.
I prefer the heavy flywheel of that generation.
