Re: 1975 R75/6 Seat Removal
OK, thanks. I thought there was a way short of taking the hinge off.

1975 R75/6 Seat Removal
Never had to remove the seat from my 1975 R75/6. I can't figure out how to slide it off the hinge pins. What's the trick?

1982 R65 Taillight bulb
I have a 1982 R65. The taillight assembly has separate running and brake light bulbs. The running light is listed in the manual as a 12v 5w. The bulb I pulled out (ancient) has no stock number on it. R. Fleischer's site (http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/lamps.htm) says: "The rear running lamp, BMW...

Re: 1975/6 Starter Removal
Thanks all for advice. After some further research, I decided to try the EnDuraLast, seems to be a good product. If I have problems with it, I'll post a review.

Re: 1975/6 Starter Removal
Pulled the starter. It has an 8-tooth gear. [430 Bosch; 0.001.157.015]
Back right bolt holding the starter was a challenge, otherwise straightforward.
Thanks for the input. I take it many think the Valeo the best, cost-effective replacement? Worth the $100 over EME's own EnDuraLast?

Re: 1975/6 Starter Removal
Crunch,
I was thinking of doing a replacement to get up and running quickly. Then I'll have a spare to rebuild when I've got some more time. Enduralast cost is $165. Valeo is $265 (from EME). Nippondenso (Motorrad Elektrik) is $350. Thought to try the Enduralast.

Re: 1975 R75/6 Tachometer and Cable
Got the cable in. Thanks. All is well, nice to have a tachometer that doesn't jump all over creation. My trick for getting the timing cover back on (the edges of the new tachometer rubber housing where the cable goes into the timing cover): 1. Take the tube out of a Armour All spray bottle, 2. Run t...

1975 R75/6 Tachometer and Cable
1975 R75/6. Tachometer went south. I've got a replacement unit as well as a new cable. Got the new unit in the instrument cluster, will send the bad one to Overseas Speedometer (unless someone knows of a better place). Any hints re replacement of cable? Any tricks? Lube or not lube (if so, with what...

1982 R65 Rear Brake Shoes
Did the '79-84 R65 have the same rear brake shoes as the R65LS? Part numbers are different. I'm trying to figure out if NOS aftermarket shoes (Ferodo FDB804) will work on my stock 1982 R65. Seller seems to think so, my research suggests different.
