For what it is worth the Bing book says that R 75/5 though R 100/7 the needle is in the third position from the top. The R 90/6 is listed as position two. Thats for the 64/32/11-12 & 64/32/311-312 carbs.

70 mph seems to be what blows the rear seal. I was riding along side a friend on a R 80/7 and he blew out the seal and yes oil went everywhere. Thank goodness for the hardiness of these old boxers.
