Re: different rear /5 wheel hubs. is something missing?
Sorry, with all the confusion I just couldn't help myself :) Last weekend I had my rear wheel apart to inspect the bearings and reset my preload. I have a habit of checking because many years ago one of my races spun in the hub. At the time I was unable to find a suitable replacement, so I peened th...

Re: Transporting your beloved on a trailer...
For those interested and not familiar with the "Canyon Dancer" style strap, the best things about it are: 1. They pull to compress the forks from the same point the rider's hands and arms push 2. They slip over the bars at the outer ends to help keep the forks straight 3. They are designed...

Re: Transporting your beloved on a trailer...
I think there are basically two camps when it comes to strapping down vehicle loads. One will say it's best to strap it down to the point where the trailering vehicles suspension does all the work, while the other will say just enough to hold it securely to allow the towed vehicles suspension to wor...

Re: different rear /5 wheel hubs. is something missing?
I got the felt and the cover for the hub. It seems that the felt fits perfectly into the cover... and the cover will fit into the cast of the hub with some tapping of a hammer. Here is my issue regarding that Top Hat on the spline side... On the /6 wheels and later, the top hat can get inserted int...

Re: different rear /5 wheel hubs. is something missing?
Interesting. I've never had a "ring cover" and never knew I was supposed to because I've always used the stack pic on Duane's site for reference, but that pic doesn't show the felt seal either. Does the "ring cover" do anything other than hold the "felt ring" in place? ...

Unless I'm mistaken, it appears you are missing the "small top hat spacer" and the felt seal that slips around the outside of it between it and the inside of the "cone". Grease will hold it all in place when installing the axle.

Re: Peanut valve cover
Adding oil to an Airhead is easy with one of these screw-on twist valve oil spouts. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//N3322/large/9180095_ftl_10107b_pri_larg.jpg These spouts screw onto standard oil bottles and have a twist valve built into them that lets you regula...

Re: looking for wire mesh headlight protector and a Yellow l
I'd post a picture of the one I test fit today, but I've already wasted enough time only to find out "the boards attachment quota has been reached".
The one I have is stainless, measures 6 7/8" in diameter and fits my /5 headlamp quite nicely.

A friend of mine down the street has a set of those Moss stone guards. I plan to test fit one the next time I ride over.

The price, look and size of these might be just the ticket:

For the yellow lens you might consider applying a yellow UV tint/film to the inside of your stock lens.
