Re: Monoshock Rear Brake Light Switch R&R
Well, I can confirm that there is insufficient access to remove and replace the rear brake light switch with just removing the rear wheel and dropping the swing are as far down as possible after removing the shock. It appears that either the swing arm needs to be removed or the rear black plastic fe...

Re: AIRHEAD question
According to Google AI….. The term "airhead" for BMW motorcycles, referring to those with air-cooled engines, was coined by Al Watson in 1991. The term was popularized by the Airheads Beemer Club, which was founded in the same year by Al Watson and B. Jan Hofman. The club's first newslette...

Center Stand Question
The bike a 1988 R100 RT. The center stand is not retracting when the bike is taken off the center stand. Rather, it's hanging up at the 45-degree point. I replaced the bushings, since the old ones looked a little worn, but that didn't help. The holes in the center stand for the bushings didn't seem ...

Monoshock Rear Brake Light Switch R&R
First of all, my bike is a 1988 R100 RT. The rear brake light switch is bad. Can the switch be replaced without removing the swing arm? It looks very tight with the swing arm in place. I'm wondering if I can remove the wheel and shock and if letting the swing arm pivot down will give me sufficient r...

Re: Sorry folks a perennial question
I heard/read that the thickness of the diaphragms can vary depression on the manufacturer, which can impact performance. I have no first knowledge of this. It’s just what I’ve read.

Re: Valve seat
The Beemershop no longer does that type of work anymore. They concentrate on suspension aka shocks and other parts. It’s a bummer as they were a great independent shop.Kurt in S.A. wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 11:00 pm Sadly I don't think Ted does Airhead heads anymore. He might have sources for parts though.

Re: Oil Leak
Agh! Old bikes. Rubbish, eh? My petrol tap has worn out the indents that make that lovely click in all three positions. No spares available but a new tap is at £40. I'm pondering how much I really like the clicks... It's odd/frustrating that you can buy replacement parts for almost all of the indiv...
