Re: Ikon 7610-1298 shock absorber

Well, I got them rebuilt. The only 5w I could find was Yamaha M1 suspension oil for $30/quart. At least the dealer claimed it was 5w-couldn't tell from the Japanese packaging. They felt good when I tested them before replacing the springs. I took a 20 mile ride and did not see any leaks. We shall se...

Ikon 7610-1298 shock absorber

Does anyone know the correct volume of oil for this shock? I am rebuilding them and have seen several different quantities of oil recommended. There was about 80cc left in the first one I disassembled.

Thanks!

1978 R80\7 Idle

Each time I stop with a warmed up engine, the idle is at about 1300rpm. After sitting for 30 seconds or so, the idle drops to a normal 1000rpm's. Float adjustment?

Thanks!

Enchanted

OK, I'll admit it. I have loved the looks of the R90S fairing from day one. I think that my R80/7 would look great in one. However, I also might be the only person who likes the looks and performance of the luftmeister currently on the bike (with the exception of it being noisey). My question is abo...

R90S fairing

I was wondering if anyone has dealt with or purchased a fairing from Flat Racer in the UK. I am considering purchasing their R90s fairing kit and have currently asked them for a shipping cost estimate to California. Or, if anyone has any other good source for an R90S type fairing domestically, I wou...

Re: jims tank lining

I had my /7 tank boiled out by a shop that did radiator work. I was planning to paint it so I wanted the outside stripped also. They did a great job of removing the liner and the outside paint, but the acid ate the fine threads on the gas valve connector. I had to tap the tank outlets on the inside ...

'78 R80/7 Omega ignition

I've had the Omega on the bike for a couple thousand miles and I love it-Fast starts and seemingly better acceleration. However, after some recent posts I've read, I think it is time for me to install a switch for a backup to points. I am curious to know, from those who have installed a backup switc...

Re: R80/7 luggage rack

Major, I generally agree with you. If I need to buy a tool, I can get excited about a job. But, if I have to buy a bottle or can of something that is left on the shelf and no new toy...well...
