As it is February and I have 7" of snow on the ground and ice on the streets, I assume it was the dreaded Parked Motorcycle Syndrome that affects many of us this time of year. the only handlebars I've been able to utilize lately are the ones on my snow blower. It's not the same.

I have one. I used it on the /2 conversion. I did secure the bike to the lift with ratchet straps so I could move it around without it falling. Use the locks. Don't trust the jack to stay up, but you shouldn't with any hydraulic jack. It's a decent jack for the price.

I use leather chaps over my jeans. Leather isn't warm, but it takes the wind out of the equation. Once you remove the wind, your quilt lined trousers should be fine. Of course it will clash with the BMW image. That would normally require Aerostitch riding gear.

I've heard it is an R12, but I have no idea what year. The scenes it is in are supposed to be from the 30's. Hope that helps.

When I took out the deer a year ago, I was wearing my mesh jacket with the soft armour. Other than a few bruises and a sprained ankle, I had no real injuries. Your point about stairs and such is well taken. However, I can see how it could increase the mobility for those individuals that , while otherwise healthy, have issues with arthritis, severe asthma, and other conditions where walking for an extended length of time is not an option.
