I've been a bad boy.... very, very bad.
I'm hoping to call through Guyra and say G'day (if you guys will talk to me).... but I'm not sure on timing.
My plan at the moment is to head towards Brisbane on the Friday - as supervising driver for my Learner son.... and on Saturday, pick up my new to me orange bike. Yep... scored one of the KTM 950 Super Enduros which seem to be a little difficult to come by - people tend to not want to part with them.
I'll point the son (and missus - who isn't 100% keen on spending her weekend doing nothing but drive to Brissie and back with a learner at 80kph).... and I'll see if I can mosey back via Guyra. I really don't know though - I'd like to see if I can get a road tyre on the rear, so that will put paid to me getting there for Saturday night. I'll just play it by ear.
Just to prove how bad I am.... here's the "new" bike....
.... and yes, the R90S will be staying with me.

Yeah, the Buckets Way turn off sounds good to me Ross, You nominate the time as I only have a short trip to there.

Very bad indeed, Biggie. At least you'll have a proper bike on the road one day.The Bigfella wrote:I've been a bad boy.... very, very bad. ...

How does between 8:30 am and 9 am sound? Is this too late a time to be heading North?Bob Bennett wrote:Yeah, the Buckets Way turn off sounds good to me Ross, You nominate the time as I only have a short trip to there.

That's not too late at all Ross, I recon we could be up there arround lunch if we go hard.
Not that I do to much of that, tend to stop for a break every hour or so.
Looking forward to meeting you.

I like to fill up around to 220km mark too. Having not done this road in many decades I don't know where the fuel stops are.

Re: Another Oz get together
G'day fellas , I've been off line with a crashed hard drive for the last week ...so now I'm back .... but with a bit of bad news . I've done something nasty to my right hand , an inflamed tendon sheath according the doctor .It's fine if I don't use my hand or dose myself up on Neurophen ,either way I can't ride Tilly at the moment , even 20 minutes and it canes .............so ,I won't be at Guyra , which is a serious piss off as I was really looking forward to it .The way it is a the moment i very much doubt it will be right in a week . BUGGER !!She'llbe wrote:Looks like about half a dozen riders will converge on the Guyra Summit Caravan Park on Saturday. So far Bob, Ross, Mal, myself are confirmed. I talked to 2 valves in Glenn Innes and 2 wheels are better in Ballina on the phone yesterday, Mal this morning. Bring your fart sack and a mattress and your favorite bottle of plonk or whatever. A covered Barbee is available and Will and Rhiannon can have a fire going in the fireplace if it's cool outside. Personally I'm looking forward to the boogie woogie through the dividing range and meeting new friends. I'm told the shed we'll be sleeping in will accommodate around 15 people so space is plenty.
I'll keep you company here and look at the photos !

Re: Another Oz get together
Sorry to hear that Peter. I'd been playing with "whereis" looking at better routes back from Brissie next Saturday. I plugged in Guyra, via the Lions Road - and its a 475km run. I'm sure as hell not in the slightest interested in doing another run down the Pacific Hwy - its so damn boring on a bike these days. I'll be doing the trip north with my youngest on Thursday night/Friday... in his car - he's on "L's" and needs some hours. I'll load all the bike spares in the car, fly the missus up to drive back with Rick and I'll head back via some of the more interesting roads. Depending on how things go, I may give you a call on the way by... not sure I want a one-handed bandit taking this bike for a spin though
