Tell 'em they're dreamin"?

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Yikes ! Roads get slippery with the first rain.... I came very close to losing my Rodeo a couple of days ago, I hung the tail out and I wasn't pushing I at all either.

Glad that they are OK. I drive so carefully in the first rain in my hotrod 4 cyl. Camry.

Three seconds slower and it would have missed altogether. I wonder why the Gods felt you needed a warning shot.

I do understand. It brings to mind my neighbors dismount a couple years ago. He was on a two lane road and a roll of pink fiberglass insulation fell off a truck going the opposite direction and took him down. After the excitement passed, he was sitting by the road holding his broken arm, waiting for his ride and people kept telling him how lucky he was. He told me later that he didn't feel lucky. I guess things could always be worse, but they could be better too.

I hope he wasn't in a t-shirt and shorts and rolled down the road with that roll of fiberglass!
I think I would rather have the road rash.

Marilyn:
My uncle once told me about a warrior who had a fine stallion.
Everybody said how lucky he was to have such a horse. “Maybe,” he said.
One day the stallion ran off. The people said the warrior was unlucky. “Maybe,” he said.
Next day, the stallion returned, leading a string of fine ponies. The people said it was very lucky. “Maybe,” the warrior said.
Later, the warrior’s son was thrown from one of the ponies and broke his leg. The people said it was unlucky. “Maybe,” the warrior said.
The next week, the chief led a war party against another tribe. Many young men were killed. But, because of his broken leg, the warrior’s son was left behind, and so was spared.

He got a little busted up, but oddly enough, his bike ended up sliding down the road on top of the roll of fiberglass and had very minor damage.
