NO LOW BEAM OR HIGH BEAM

Post by tommer2 »

How about some thoughts? 1975 r90. Here's what I have. Horn works, all functions of the yellow switch works , the running lights work (little bulb in the headlight shell and the tail light)the flash to pass works my problem is the high beam low beam switch. I get nothing!! I've checked all wiring. I've taken the switch apart and cleaned all contacts! Searched for the little spring for over an hour!!! Yes I found it! LOL! All switch wires have continuity. Could it be the relay? Just my thought. HELP! Thanks in advance.

Did you check and see if there's power to the headlight? If so, you have a ground problem. If not then you start looking back from there, and, yes, then it could be the relay. You have to identify the path the current should be taking and then you can determine where the failure is.

There are many schematics available online if you don't have one.

My vote for faulty light relay if the "flash pass" works. Had a similar problem.
