my '66 R60/2 has been through 3 headlight bulbs in the past few years.
The latest one only lasted a 100 miles or so. Something it spiking the system...
It is still 6V.
I am now in the habit of kick starting it without the headlight on. Maybe kicking it with the headlight on is the cause?
Any other ideas as to how I keep blowing headlights? Or what to check?
Someday i will save my pennies for a 12V electronic ignition conversion... someday. But for now, it is $15 headlight bulbs....

Re: /2 keeps blowing headlights
I can offer no help, except that mine does the same thing. I figure it's maybe the quality of the available bulbs? I dunno...I guess I'll plan on swapping to 12v at some point too.

I would put a voltmeter on it and watch it under various conditions. You should never see over 7.2 volts, usually less under full rpm and charge.
Yes, it could be faulty cheap bulbs.
