Michelin Activ Size

Post by hudson »

I need to put some new tires on my 71 R75/5. I heard good feed back on the Michelin Activ. I am ordering online, so I just want confirmation on the correct size:

Front: (3.25 H19)100/90/19 - Michelin 100/90/19 57V
Rear: (4.00 H18)110/90/18 - Michelin 110/90/18 64H

Not sure what the 57V & 64H mean. I assume the letters are the speed rating? Any idea what those numbers are? BTW, I don't want the thinner 90/90/19 tire on the front.

thanks for the help!

Mine are showing just the inch sizes, not the metric.

The numbers and letters are load and speed rating IIRC. H is 130 mph, so academic for Airhead purposes. V is 150+ mph.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Those numbers in front of the letters are load rating, but I haven't figured out exactly how to convert that to actual pounds. Can't seem to find a graph explaining it. 57 and 64 seems like it represents something that is something other than 57 or 64 pounds total, maybe it's per square inch which may make more sense.
