Fairing mount grommet part number please

Post by danielhowden »

Does anyone have a part number for these grommets? I only have one. They are used to mount the fairing around the indicator stalk.

Thanks, Daniel.

R100S as I recall. I've looked on both the R90S and R100S parts diagram and the part number is not shown. Someone will need to find an old paper copy of the parts list to find a number. But likely it's not carried by many if any dealers. Might have to find something at one of the salvage yards or used part places.

My bike (1990GSPD) came with flexible flasher stalks, for crash-worthiness I suppose.
If you look at any bike like mine, you'll see the flashers are droopping.
This drooping gets worse with age (as do many other things). :o
The stalks are .5in" diameter, bolted inside the fairing, and protrude through a approx 1" hole in the fairing. There was an unsightly gap around the stalk, and nothing to prevent the drooping.
So I added a grommet, as shown below. They've been thee about 30 years now, so far, so good.
The ones I used were from a Toyota fuel pump mounting bracket, but they are available in almost any size you can imagine.

Sorry, I missed that part. It is a 1977 R100S.

I found two items you need to look up:
Rubber grommet # 46 63 1233 200
Eccentric bushing # 46 63 1234 406

The second one is correct. Thanks for that.

Well am not sure what the sizing of those are but I needed some for my R80 and yes I could not find a part number, I did find some from my local Hardware store as they had a huge selection of them in various sizes, I would try your local hardware store.

I also managed to replace all the rubber mounts for my Battery box from the local engineering supplier all the correct size and studs and at a fraction of the cost from BMW.
