Need help determining correct wiring subharness

The bike 1988 R100 RT

I need help identifying the correct wiring subharness. I'm in the middle of replacing my timing chain and the connector for the ignition bean can to the wiring harness got buggered up. It's best to replace it. Tracing the wiring harness, it goes from the ignition bean can to the ignition control unit. It appears to be 61 12 1 244 176, but I'm not 100% sure.

The connector bean can end, or the connector ICU end? I think you can buy those connectors now ...maybe from EME?

Thanks Steve. That's exactly what I need rather than getting the whole harness. Repair kit ordered.

That's not actually a bad price but, if you just need one of the connectors (or parts) for a repair you can order them, individually. They are called 'Junior Power Timer Connectors' manufactured by 'TE Connectivity' and a search on the net will find them. Male connectors (i.e. bean can side) are more difficult to find than Female (EMU side) but you can find them if you look.

This UK based company shows stock for the female side (complete with terminals which are sometimes listed seperately) at £UK 4.20 but I would expect them to be available in most territorries.

Thanks Rob. I wish I could say I only need one side, but when I bugger something up--I really bugger it up. I need both connectors.

Bugger...both!

So my thoughts go towards the best way to repair a HES wiring harness. Easy enough if it's just the plug getting replaced, eg case in point..

However, one not uncommon problem is the wires getting pinched midway under the front cover. Solder v crimp v special connector? They're fine wires...
