RS/RT rear vision mirror glass replacement.

Post by SteveD »

Is there a method to open these successfully to replace the glass?

They appear to be a snap together construction, no external fastenings to undo.

Is adhesive involved I wonder?

Anyone done this or just replaced them when necessary?

There's a small opening outer lower edge ... maybe access for a pry tool?

These mirrors are convex. Even if you could take it apart without destroying it and then put it back together so it looks perfect, you'll be hard pressed finding a piece of mirror glass with the same optics as the other side.

My mirrors are already different. The right one shows a vehicle much closer than the left. Remember, the right one shows the overtaking side.
