Braided steel for rear Brembo

Post by Steve78RS »

Hi Folks

Thought you might be interested in my custom brake line setup for my rear Brembo. After purchasing a new Brembo rear MC for my old 78RS, I asked my local hydraulic shop to make me up a new braided steel line. They did a great job and threw in some fancy quick fit connectors (see below). All for $78.

The OZ blokes may be interested in the fact that my hydraulic guy made two by mistake. If SteveD, Grant or Jeff (or anyone else for that matter) would like a new brake line let me know. At $78 they're a steal.

Looks the goods.

My rear brake has a braided ss line, but only the last bit. That looks very flash.

Yes I was going to go that way and keep the copper pipe but my brake man convinced me to make the whole system into a single line. He said you should notice the difference. I'm a bit busy to put it all together at present so I'll let you know how it works soon.

I wish I'd gone down the custom made path for my braided front hoses. The savings are considerable.

I'll e-mail via paypal with the invoice for $80. $2 should cover postage to you (reply with your postal address).

I'm OK for the front hoses. Paid far too much for a set of Melvin hoses from Germany. Kicking myself.

If you're in the market for some front lowers for the RS, I sent a pair of Goodridge lines to Steve from my bikes previous incarnation as a RS. He may be interested in parting with them; then again he may not.

Grant

Just check for kinks etc. in those hoses first. The front end took all the impact in the crash.

You may not like the blue colouring either. Not exactly grey ghost.

G'day Steve,

Blue you said

I just spoke to SteveD and he will drop them in today on his way past Trafalgar, we also discussed putting a black heat shrink over the blue which might work.....Just not that keen on the blue, but the price is fantastic once again...

Or consider spiral cable wrap.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.
