Mattcfish said, "In my opinion a manufacturer shouldn't call something a new model unless it has all the upgrades that the new year machines are supposed to have. It should be a 1975.5 model."

BMW commonly used up parts and often they didn't run out at the year end as would be nice. A few times they later found another box and used them a year later. That was confusing.

It is best to understand that a new year model was sort of a rubber date.

I believe that the factory holiday changed a bit over time. Or, I don't remember.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.

I was always under the impression that most of Europe's manufacturing took off the month of August.

Feel free to correct me. I am just a poor, ignorant 'merican, after all.

"Not a mechanic?" Well, you used to claim that with every post.
