Wow, after reading that advertisement I'm going to move my Lesters to a more prominent spot on my shelf! I had been thinking of them as period bling, but now I see that there are great aerodynamic improvements from the shape of the spokes. Plus I can use them tubless without having to deal with those troublesome safety grooves.

And if I should ever install them on one of my airheads I could emulate that coveted 80's Japanese bike look!

Gee thanks Steve.

I had let them slide off to the back burner and was trying to forget about them. Now I'm all worked up again and will have to go buy them.

So then will come the REAL problem. Do I buy another bike to put them on, or do I convert my /5 to disc brakes. :?

I think you read a bit too much into the ad, Ken. I see where they say the shape is "dynamic," but I didn't see anything about "aerodynamic." "Dynamic" is nice advertising "puffery" in that it doesn't really have to mean anything.

That would be "Dynamic" advertizing.

It still seems to work after 30 years.

Well, the print was awfully small and my eyes don't focus as well as they used to. . . . . .

I am relieved at the correction though. Now I can leave my Lesters right where they are, and I don't have to integrate them into my plans for things I'm going to do something with someday.

Ken, hold down Ctrl and use the scroll mouse to change the size. I did downsize the pic to allow the whole pic to be seen because this forum doesn't autosize large pics to fit.

I have Lesters on my bike, just to look different from all the other beemers. Also, I'm going to restore the spoked wheels this winter so I'll have variety. Maybe I'll swap rims when I change tire brands, for something to do. It seems from several of the photos on the net that Lesters were a popular decision on the 90S's when they came out.

The Lesters came out in the mid 70s.

Ken, I think that you have selected excellent wheels to not use. You are very lucky to have them.
