I'm new here and have, as yet, taken no great part in proceedings. I do however have experience of other forums and used to be very active on Illuminati Guzzisti which has some small fame for being entirely uncensored. I quit Illuminati with regret - guys like Ozzie Pete Roper are global authorities on fast Mandello machinery and, typically, there were several guys from the US who were entertaining despite their bad spelling. There was however a small but vociferous minority who were antagonistic, contentious and opinionated to the point of offense. I chose to leave rather than continue to be made uncomfortable by their vituperative postings.

I like it here. There seems to be a genial, left-of-centre humour that makes this forum a comfortable place to relax in. Loads of well informed and knowlegeable members give great insight into keeping old airheads going, and so far I've met nothing but helpfulness and comradeship.

I've followed Supershaft's posts on ADV and find him noisome, manipulative and narcissistic. The internet is full of the clamour of loud, rude and opinionated keyboard warriors. Long may this forum remain exempt.

Welcome DanielMc, glad you're here.
(P.S. "Vituperative" - nifty new word.)
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Vituperative, as in:

My visits to advrider dwindled to zero due to the persistent vituperative exchanges.

Whereas,

Congenial, as in:

My preference for Boxerworks.com is rooted mainly in the congenial manner of forum members.

Began lurking during the "ancient " forum, & though I've read some of the "hot under the collar" postings , imo, there is an underlying mutual respect here which seems to encourage the expression of different/opposing viewpoints. Makes for a more well-rounded experience...

As for the spam, I never touch the stuff. :D

I, too, look forward to new members and their many faceted opinions.
Thanks to all,

I have not been on Boxerworks very offen in the past year, just kind of drifted away. Spending time at AdvRiders and a Minnesota Dual Sport board.

It's time to start putting the R100GS back together after dropping a valve last summer.

Also new on here, from the land of Oz. Seems like a few ex ADV`ers in here. Have been a memebr of the ADVrider site(Oz section) for 5 years. It has its moments, but Im always looking for new places to meet others. Also on the R65.org site. Thats not too bad. Just dont ask questions about getting more power out of a R65 motor. Boy they get anal quick.
cheers

the problem is everywere the same some think that only big CC is the only answer...
For me the R65LS is a great bike, quick and high rev, lightweight, good ground clearance. Maybe as good as my G/S ;)
My G/S is more adequate than my 90S most of the time...
