Clutch pushrod.

Post by Garnet »

I just bought a 5 speed from a 1977 that is going to replace the 4 speed in my /2 conversion.

It did not come with a clutch release push rod. Does anyone have a spare one in their imense pile of junk spare parts?

The one I need is 205.5 mm long and has the notch for the felt seal.

Thanks for lookin.

Part 2:

Has anyone ever tried shortening a 4 speed push rod? They are about 10mm longer.

I've got a spare post 81 rod...I know, no help.

I've got a pre 81 rod attached to this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... OTORS:1123
;)
I'll take a look at my stock pile.
I've got one on the 76 tranny I just pulled off my bike, but I'm holding on to it in case the 83 tranny I got is a dud.

Shortening the rod shouldn't be a problem as long as the felt section is in the correct place. I don't think the tips were hardened on the early bikes.
