Putting out $2000 to $3000 for wheels is normal enough for Ducati owners, with carbon going significantly higher, but I doubt there's many Airhead owners who would do so.

While I've been having work done (paint, drivetrain) on the bug, I have had the passenger seat out of it. The rear seat has been in the rafters for years as I don't carry people in back. So there is lots of room. In the car on the way home from Long Beach was a quiet power muffler, a complete set of 42DCNF dual Webers with manifolds and linkage, another box with some other VW parts and my road bike with wheels removed and the two Morris mags with tires.
