tWIN MAX.

Post by SteveD »

Mine is dead.

The battery is ok. It lights up when turned on, but the needle no longer swings.

Any ideas on what may fix it?

Cheers

Unless you can narrow the fix down to something simple, it will probably cost as much to fix it as it will to buy a new one.

What about the sensitivity knob? If that's too far to one direction, the needle won't be very sensitive. I guess you've tried putting a vacuum on one side only and the needle still doesn't work...

Have a look inside - there are plastic tubes which can get twisted.

But they dont like moisture - if it has been damp it is probably finished.

I replaced mine with a flow gage - bike isnt a lot smoother but is sure runs better.

About half the price too.

Nothing happens to the dial, despite vacuum, or fiddling with the sensitivity.

The inner tubes are intact and not kinked. One inner tube was loose however, and since "fixing" that it hasn't worked.

Despite being very careful not to pull or disconnect any connections, it just doesn't move anymore.

No corrosion on any of the tracks on PCB? Is power actually getting to the board? The pressure sensor should have +5v on one pin.

Thanks Sterob.
I'll check that when I can.
