Here is my new remote location. Works great. It takes a little extra concentration to take pictures and jam in the twisties at the same time, but the hand position feels safe.

Tim, that cover came from a cool builder in France. He built aluminum cafe tanks and seats as well as lots of other neat things like that starter cover for BMWs and Hinkley Bonneys.

I just tried his site and then a bit of googling and it looks like he's out of busienes.

Atelier Motrne was the business name and his name was Xavier Parent.

I hope he resurfaces as he had some real neat stuff, although it was exensive.

I want to fill the mirror holes on my /5 also, I installed Albert mirrors and the holes bug me. I want some pretty, SS, Button or Allen heads.

Some Japanese (Yamaha I think) bikes from the 70s used 10mm stud mirrors in Lh and RH thread. Try your local bike boneyard.

True, but a way different thread pitch BMW is 10x 1.5mm, the Japanese mirrors were mostly 10x 1.25mm.
Try McMaster Carr, Bolt Depot etc.
