To answer you first question; it has those exotic slide carbs, probably the later/lighter clutch carrier, hot cams no doubt, and most likely a lightened valve train, etc etc. Any slide carb setup should speed up throttle response, it's like putting a mechanical advance distributor in a car that had vacuum advance.

The cheapest way I found to get a rev response like that, is to take the clutch and gearbox off :idea:
