Reaping the rewards

Post by Unclviny »

In 100+ degree-heat I installed:
New Hagon shocks, new (used but refurbished) widened centerstand with new bolts/bushings and washers, starter switch, LED turn signal bulbs, control-box "bitey-bits", grips, changed the oil/filter and gave her a bath.

She is sitting in the driveway waiting for me and we are headed for a small bike-show tonight.

Enjoy :!:
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Welcome to "as the old-bike turns"
After working on the /5 ALL-DAY I checked everything in the driveway, she started fine so I took a shower, posted here, got all my stuff on and... a big zero, she did nothing.
I jumped in my Japanese car and went to the bike-thing.

Symptoms:
The neutral light will not light even when I am in neutral and the starter button does nothing, I suspect that the problem is that somebody let a Doofus (me) mess with the wiring.
I will not have time to even look at it until Wed. or Thurs. (I'm busy with work-stuff).

The centerstand was a HUGE pain, remove Mufflers, headpipes and footpegs, swap the stand, There was not room to do the Penny-trick with the spring so once the bolts were in I put the bike on the stand and had somebody hold it while I Vise-gripped the springs into place. in total about a 3 1/2 hour job (in 100+ degrees working in my driveway).
