Brake/ Clutch lever finish
Brake/ Clutch lever finish
When I took some bits to the local Workshop that does Anodizing I asked about doing some brake levers and he led me to believe that they don't Anodize too well - so my question is what is the black finish on the Brake/Clutch levers and while I'm on the subject - what about the calipers - it's not a paint but you can't anodize castings can you?
Re: Brake/ Clutch lever finish
The blue calipers on the first year RS are anodized blue.
Levers you mentioned are anodized also. What happens is...used levers have soaked up perspiration and who knows what else and if then anodized gives a blistered unsatisfactory finish. If they accept them at all it will be with a huge discalimer on the results. Trust them.

Re: Brake/ Clutch lever finish
I think they look better with a little aluminum showing through. Call it a patina.

Re: Brake/ Clutch lever finish
The levers in the mid 70s were painted, not anodized. It was very good quality paint.
