I think Canada lists octane the way Europe does. We're the odd-man-out with our (R+M)/2 system.Chuey wrote:Our top octane rating is 91. The bike's name if Buster. He's full of 91 now. Rode it over to the shop to do some paperwork today and it worked fine. I'm chomping at the bit to get it out into the mountains. That bike loves to turn. Also, it is my most steady bike with hands off. I'll try to get a picture or two tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure we use the same method. Most places in Canada the best you can get is 91 or 92 as well. But here in southern BC we have a few Chevron stations that have 94. It's a real teat if you have a 60's muscle car or a 70's airhead.
The only problem is the price. About $5.50 a US gallon today.

You've been watching too much of That 70's Show.Chuey wrote:Heh, heh, you said "hard-on".justoneoftheguys wrote:Good - either that or the rubber tips on the needles got hard on you, or there is a crack in the fuel line that you can't see and it is running down the side of the carb and making it look like the float bowl is overflowing. But those are both age-related.

Sounds like you guys are catching up to us Ozzies...Garnet wrote:Just over $5.Tim Shepherd wrote:How much is the 91 per gallon?Garnet wrote:I'm pretty sure we use the same method. $1.39 a litre for 91ron,
$1.47 for 95ron,
$1.55 a litre for 98ron....
@ 1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.785 liter, the Ozzie USgallon is Oz$5.26, or US$5.57.
Our petrol prices fluctuate by 10cents on a regular weekly basis...the numbers shown are at the low end. In rural areas, they're worse again.

That's kind of a cool joke that came out of Beavis & Butthead. It is something you can use if someone says words in an order that makes them resemble something lewd. Since it's not a structured joke, but a situational one, it is kind of like "That's what she said".
By the way, I rode from 10:30 until 3:30 today and the bike worked great. It really runs strong.
