Bing enricher differences /5

Post by x1Buellist »

Well I had damaged the Bing enricher on my /5 and had to order a new one. I received it yesterday and there are some small differences. One, the slot in the disc is shaped a little differently. Two, the new one doesn't have the same pattern of holes in the disc. So, now the enricher on the left has a different configuration than the enricher on the right. Will these differences be enough to cause the enricher to feed air/fuel differently? The brass shaft is the piece I broke that caused me to have to buy a new enricher. I could try to disassemble the new enricher and transplant the shaft onto the old disc if that is worthwhile.

fwiw, I ran all of last year using only one enricher, never used the right side one. It's only for starting..

I didn't really think it would matter enough to try to transplant the old disc on the new shaft but you never know, sometimes the smallest details cause significant issues and I knew you guys would kinow if that were the case.

Make sure that the new disk will be in the fully "Off" position on the carb when choke is off. Perhaps there is enough adjustment in your choke cables to make it work, but then the new disc will not go to full enrichment.

Maybe it would be best to send the whole works over to Jeff (ME109). He has PEEN around. :geek:
