A source for R100GS tank badges .

Post by Sibbo »

I've asked this before but my computer crashed and I lost my bookmarks so I need to ask again . ;)

I'm about to get my rough old 100GS tank repainted and the badges are in need of replacements. Any suggestions ?

Munich Motorcycles has them, Peter -

There would be all sorts of creative alternative symbols if one wanted to avoid stock badges - Yin/yang symbol, a fish eye, a bulls-eye target, a spiral, a nipple ... ok, I'll stop now.

Hi Charlie .... not too expensive ! Munich usually terrifies me !
Bulls eyes and nipples . ... thinking  , a yin yang might be OK too.

Thanks for that ..... now where to find the creative stuff ? ;)

The 70 mm stick on badges also go on the centre of car wheels, last ones I bought from a car dealer were $6-, so the $13- is only +100% , better than MunIch's usual +200%.

Might be worth a check on a microfiche to see if the cars have a larger one to match the GS BADGE.

I used the car badges on my Heinrich. I can't recall the fella I ordered them from. Try the wreckers.

I need the 82 mm size , there is a depression formed in the tank to take them and it's about 88mm in diameter .

Motobins have the 81mm badges you require...what I used on my GS with same tank: part # 95303

http://www.motobins.co.uk/bmw-parts.php?model=R Series 2 valve Twin

8 GBP ea. pretty reasonble price.

They hide them under "Fuel Supply" catagory..."Fuel Tank badges"....beats me...

Can't you just order them from any BMW dealer? When I've wanted new ones for my RTs that's all I did and they arrived promptly and at reasonable cost.
