'77 R100/7 wiring schematic
Just curious, does anyone on this forum have a copy of a wiring schematic for a 1977 R100/7they would be willing to share? My clymer manual doesn't have diagrams before 1981. I am relocating my wiring back to the headlight shell and need a good schematic to be sure I get all the wires where they belong. I am also adding a clock and volt meter and looking for a better than stock way to wire them, using relays and voltage regulator. Any one ever hear of installing this way?

Scanned from my Clymer. Had to reduce to 40% to meet file size limit.

i've just scanned the diagram from my Haynes manual. Here's a reduced image.

If you send me an email, or a PM with your email address I'll send the hi-res image (1.7MB)

native/5, I cannot open the link, it's dead on my end. Most likely the problem is with this end, the web site has not been loading the same for about a week now.

Don't be alarmed if you find an "odd color" of some wire, as BMW bought the harnesses from contractors. The contractors used whatever was available, or cheap. As the years went on, they became more and more standardized.

Re: '77 R100/7 wiring schematic
I would like to thank those who sent me wiring schematics. The slight difference proved to make all the difference. Turns out I had only 3 wires where they didn't belong. The first 2 were easy with the schematic, but the last one was a lot harder. I guess I'm getting colour blind or the wire colours have faded, but the last wire was right next to where it belonged and I didn't see it until I went through every wire. Still more work to do but the bike is runing again and everything works. Also, it's amazing how much lighter the bike feels without that huge Pichler fairing on the front. It seems to steer faster and more responsive. The S fairing is a little weight but less than half of the Pichler, and it looks good too! It's going to take some getting used to not having all the protection of a full fairing but it feels a lot sportier, maybe my imagination but I LIKE IT! Thanks again to all who helped. I hope I can return the favor or meet you on the road for a Guinness one day.

Congrats on the fix. Yes, some colors do fade easily. The red ones can be really bad and I have seen yellow go to white.

I have to give credit to all the people on this site who are so willing to lend a hand, (or opinion), in problem solving and answering my questions. It seems like this bike is ever evolving and never static.Duane Ausherman wrote:Congrats on the fix. Yes, some colors do fade easily. The red ones can be really bad and I have seen yellow go to white.
