Head light

Post by Bob Distelcamp »

I have a 81 R100RS, What is the brightest H4 bulb I can use? Right now I have a 55/60
Can I go up to a 80/100 watt bulb? I just did the En Dura Last alternator so I have the juice,
I just don't wish to open a can of worms.

Thanks Bob

I wouldn't. Those are pretty expensive parts in there if you start melting things. If you aren't scared off by PIAA's pricing, they have an 80/80 I've run in my Oilhead, and it's a huge improvement.

Oh, I've have H4 100/80 in the '84 RS, /7, and KRS without any issues so far for a few years. And I run high beam ALL the time when grabbing some rpms. Screw 'em; they're going to see me coming -- I'm tired of lazy drivers starting to pull out in front of me.
Haven't noticed any crispy wires in the buckets.

Be carefully about using high beams during the day"...........they may well see you coming, but misjudge your speed because they are dazzled by the light and so pull out on you anyway!

I have a PIAA 60/55 Extreme White Plus (p.n. 70456).
Big improvement without any heat issues.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.
