Re: Let the bobbing begin.
Started making some footpegs today. Keeping with the "industrial" feel of the bike. Used the left over grating from the seat. Not that there was anything wrong with my original BMW pegs. Just wanted to keep it looking like a garage/garbage dump build.
Cut some notches in them. Somehow I don't think Tourtech will add these to their catalogue.

Re: Let the bobbing begin.
I wonder what would happen if you were to stand on those footpegs?
Re: Let the bobbing begin.
They are a work in progress. WIll Havana a way longer bolt running through them and then another bolt to also help mount them.Native /5 wrote:I wonder what would happen if you were to stand on those footpegs?

Re: Let the bobbing begin.
One foot peg is fully done now.
Bought some long high tensile bolts. Made some spacers up and got drilling and a painting.
There has been some concern expressed to me that these pegs would not be safe. They would collapse as soon as I put any weight on them. This is not so. I have mounted both pegs and stood on them. Moved up and down on them. Used the left one to stand on and swing my leg over. Neither of them have given way at all. This was even before I put the spacers in the left peg.
Just have to cut grooves in the right peg and spray it black too and they are done.

Re: Let the bobbing begin.
My cow hide for the seat pad has arrived. Nice brown with a line of tan running through the fur.
Seat pad template was made this arvo. After work tomorrow I shall start cutting rubber, cow hide and sheet alloy and craft a seat.
