My 1040cc is still leaking oil. After several attempts with copper gaskets, lapping the head and barrel faces I tried the Sieberock composit gaskets and now the head joint looks dry, but oil is still collecting around the 12 and 6 O'clock studs and among the fins around them.
The heads are 90S, they have had the squish band machined like the R100's, twin plugged, new guides and seats and I ground out the rocker pillar tubes machined up some top hats in steel to accept the later mono type rockers. From what I can see - the oil can only be coming out throught those studs or by passing the spark plugs - it's dry else where. I can't believe the oil is coming from the combustion chamber as surley it wouldn't run clean with that much oil in there.
Please does any one have any ideas what might be going wrong?
Leaking R90S Heads
Re: Leaking R90S Heads
the gasket will fool you the drain to the crank is on the bottom nand as it runs a mist came develope and coat the non leaking part
I'd try a sealer where the push rods and return oil goes to the crank
