has anyone heard of this? http://tinyurl.com/6qzf8cy
seems to me that it would be well known if it worked like they say. but I've been wrong before.
balancing beads?
Re: balancing beads?
Why not save the added expense and unsprung weight of beads rolling about in the tire
and simply balance the wheel correctly ?

Re: balancing beads?
it seems like the beads would take the place of weights if they really work, would be widely used in ALL vehicles.vanzen@rockerboxer.com wrote:Why not save the added expense and unsprung weight of beads rolling about in the tire

I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Every Spring this comes up!
Pro/Con. For/Against. Yes/No.
I went as far as purchasing some beads two years ago; never used 'em...

Re: balancing beads?
Considering the huge savings in labor cost and time, if these worked, every manufacturer and every professional race team would be using them.
As far as I know, none are.

I must be dumber than the dumb-arses that came up with them. How are they even supposed to work? Aside from maybe allowing you to pull a wheel at one of Ken's big deals around the campfire and use it for a shaker in a sing-along...

I bet they keep the inside of the tires/tube really clean.
So...the tire would be out of balance until it made a few rotations, from a dead stop that is. What happens in sudden braking? I wonder if they could be designed to help plug punctures?

Re: balancing beads?
I used them in my rear tire - once. Same tire as before, wore out 2,000 miles quicker with DynaBeads. Many people swear by them. I found them a pain and very effective at wearing my tire out.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
