clutch relief

Post by michael »

A few years back I saw a chain/pulley thing that made clutch pull much easier on airheads. This thing was mounted on the frame near the clutch arm. Is anyone on this site familiar with one of these and are they still available? :?:

Vech at Benchmark Works sells one:

They cut the pull force in half but also lengthens the engagement by a factor of 2. It's important that the clutch be adjust spot-on otherwise you'll have problems at either end of the actuation.

And from what I hear, they do not fit the Type-248s (R65), just in case someone is thinking of putting one on one.

Does that mean they fit the 1981 bikes??

Yup, the links says it's for the /2/5/6/7 bikes. I suspect that means it will go up to 1980.

I put one I got from Vech several years ago on LaDonna's /6, It has worked well for years and lets her work the clutch lever with ease, money well spent, if the wife is happy I'm happy'

I like mine stiff... Clutch that is! Gives it that "racey" feel. Any vehicle purported to be a race car I might get into and its clutch felt like the pressure plate came out of a Camry (no offense Camry owner(s) I'd surely be asking some questions...
