This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Yep a central bonfire

Quote from flyer: Grog is BYO and plentiful at the pub and supermarket. Saturday night will feature video presentations, raffle and a bonfire. Please, no fires in the grassy paddock.

Must admit there is nothing like sitting around a fire reliving how great we used to be.

Does the lack of a personal group campfire send this plan up in smoke?

Is an alternative destination in order? Maybe somewhere near The Dish?

Here's a googlemaps street view from the eastern side -

There is a lot of scrub around the southern side and there is a track leading off in that direction. I think there is a fence line between that scrub and the racecourse proper. It would be great to get access to some local knowledge.

Mal of Dubbo is on the case. He emailed me from his little telephone - he can't post here at the moment but wishes all to know that he will be getting some local intelligence (if possible) about the camping and fire matters. Rest easy. We can always accidentally set fire to a harley or something.

Yep, me too but I like the tableland and I can't get time enough off to get as far South as the rest of these lads .

Hi guys,

Charlie just sent me an email advising of this gathering...

I've put it in the memory bank (as a priority), but cannot confirm my attendance at this stage...

But it is four weeks away - and that's a fair deal of days - so i'm feeling relatively confidant (which may or may not be appropriate!)

Of course, i'll be airhead mounted for this one.

Good to hear from you Pete.

I was rostered to work, but we had a glut of staff so I gave myself some leave and was very confident of getting there.

However, I hate that word sometimes, yesterday I got an annual leave report for staff which highlights a few too many staff accumulating too much leave. So, before I can give the leave to me, I need to try and offload some shifts from the leave accumulators! That is this weeks task!

I'm hopeful, but we'll see, as mum useta say!
Cheers, Steve
