Das Boot??

Post by jagarra »

I have a early 74 R90/6 made in 1973 which has some unusal control lever housing, both sides. Just under the housing there is a plunger set up with a couple of wires coming into it, I am looking for the part number for the boot for that assy. The plugger/switches look like they operate the front brake switch and some type of interlock so you can start the bike with the clutch puled in. Of course these items don't appear on the fiche, at least where I can find it.

thanks,

Here is a link to the part I am looking for, don't need the whole thing but just the boot portion.

I bought some from Blue Moon Cycles in Atlanta. I think most BMW dealers would have them.

As George says, most dealers should be able to get them, if not have them. They fit everything from '70 - '76.

YAHOO, thanks Major.

Yep, it was just knowing where to look, kept check the fiche off and on all day, different models. There is another switch for the clutch side, which is the same.

He knew that. These are meant for the same purpose, kind of. They keep the water out. Basically, that's what boats do. Uh huh. Yeah, that's what I meant.

And remember the felt seal in the clutch arm when you replace your clutch cable......

Thanks Charles, yeah, another little bit to replace. I did see those on the fiche, they are located up by the handle I believe.

I used the title 'Das boot' as a play on the meaning and after all, we do try to provide subject titles that spark attention, and the part is a protective boot.
I thought Das Boot was a great movie when I first saw it.
