Get into ebay.de and do a search for "Tankrucksack Elefantenboy". Lots there.

Re: Tank Bags suitable for /5s
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention the Harro bag. Back in the day there were a few bags available, but the Harro beat them all, hands down.
Things may be different today.

Re: Tank Bags suitable for /5s
I bought a Harro tank bag a few years back, but found it too big and cumbersome, look for a BMW branded one on Ebay? check that it fits R series bikes. Some of the Givi branded magnetic bags will work, but maybe not if you have a /6 with big tank and rubber knee pads.
if i was looking for a modern tank bag, I would look for a dealer stocking a wide range of Givi products and find one that fits.
A big tank bag goes a long way to replace a fairing on a naked bike.

Those Wolfman Bags look interesting, designed for Enduro/GS type bikes, narrow width &

I bought a Dririder tank bag for my RS. It would fit a /5 too.
They have two or three options.
Magnetic base that will stay on the bike even when one hits kangaroos. Not sure about emus tho'
And, you can get a black texta and black out most of the first 'i' and have a 'Dr. rider bag.

Re: Tank Bags suitable for /5s
I would think hitting an emu would be much like hitting an elk or moose here: the bike may be fine, but the rider would be instantly removed from said bike. Whether or not the tank bag remained on the bike would probably be closely related to the height of the tank bag.ME 109 wrote: Magnetic base that will stay on the bike even when one hits kangaroos. In such accidents here, if at high speed, the bike is likely to do far better than both the rider and the animal.
If at low speed, and if it's a moose, your troubles have just begun.

I reckon an emu would be my choice over a moose or elk.Major Softie wrote:I would think hitting an emu would be much like hitting an elk or moose here

Re: Tank Bags suitable for /5s
For me the tank bag is mainly a fairing and rest for my body. I pack it so that I can lean on it comfortably. The fact that is holds stuff is just a plus. The photo shown above about 3 posts back looks like one of the Harro bags. They used to make different sizes. I didn't like the huge one at all.
With the use of a tank bag I didn't need saddlebags. Of course I had no passenger to take up space.
