bing CV carbs

Post by michael »

First thanks for all the advice I have received from this forum. Are there starter settings for the adjustment screws on Bing 64s. I have rebuilt them and don't know where to start for proper tuning.

Depending on which "64" and which bike, the intitial setting ranges from 1/2 turn open up to 1-1/2 turns open.
MOST all the 64/32's are 1/2 turn but there are a few exceptions that want 1 turn.

Maybe this helps.

Something I saved to file. Sorry I can't acknowledge the source. I believe it was an Airheads.org contributor but since they shut the public out I can't check.

Factory Pilot Mixture Screw Settings
When rebuilding or completely resetting a carburetor, the pilot mixture screw is tightened all the way down, and then backed off (counter-clockwise) a specified number of turns. Once adjusted and while the bike is running, listen for ???? and tighten or loosen for finer adjustment. Bing carburetor model numbers sorted by turns.
