R65 ignition switch

I knew he was in Scotland (One 'T', Scot! )
He said something several days ago that made me google, and it came up with "some sort of Scottish phrase".

As a matter of interest...

Although McCabe (MacCabe and other spellings) originated in the Western Isles of Scotland it seems to be mainly Irish latterly as the family were Gallowglasses for some Irish families in the 13th century.

Just received the replacement ignition switch,turned the key from right to left now won't turn back (it's not on the bike as I've just taken it out the parcel),My question is- do the wires have to be in place at the back of the switch and current going through the switch for it to work?

No. What you are performing is a purely mechanical function.

It could be a little stiff if it is a new switch.

The switch is absolutely fine,I'm still on my learning curve with boxers,I didn't realise that the hinged part of the key was functional,I thought it was just for show,when i folded the plastic part of the key over it slipped a little further in the barrel and worked.
BTW all my light are working fine now so it WAS the wrong ignition switch.
Now for the inspection at my local MOT station.

Excellent! If your shocks are original, plan on replacing them ASAP.

What make of shocks would you suggest?
I still intend to go to Germany in the summer,will riding two up hopefully.

It all depends on your budget. If it is limited, Hagon is a good choice. We have a great distributor for them here in the U.S., but since they are made in England, you may as well go with a U.K. dealer.

Here is one I found Googling:

They also offer the very popular Ikon shock, which offers more adjustments and probably a superior ride, but I find their most appealing attribute to be that they are rebuildable. They are also more expensive - darn it.

But for the price on the Hagon, you get (here in the U.S.) a conversation with a real person (and here you get the same guy every time you call! ) on the phone, describing how you plan to use the bike that the shock(s) is/are going to be mounted on.
I'm betting it is very similar with the link above.

Thanks,I looked at the site and it appears i already have aftermarket shocks,I have the ones made by BETOR,looks like a result,thanks again.
