Yes.
Spline lubing is over rated anyhowz.
If you lubed your splines one week and looked at the splines a week later after riding, it would appear that you never lubed the spline in the first place. (from my exp)
OK. So I went to the Knobbies Rally in Morganton this weekend, and JUST SEE what has happened!!
If you scarred the case, you need sealant around the outer edge of the seal...if you got really lucky and didn't scar the case, it "should" be OK. Guess how you'll know?
Yes, Rob. We have discerned that "You ain't no mechanic".
Not putting some lube on the push-rod and on the splines might be OK, but they wren't exactly "nice" when you got the case and REALLY, you should DO THAT. You already had ONE experience with NO-LUBE.
Isn't there ANYBODY in or near Indianapolis who can go over to Rob's place, drink his beers (GO GET SOME GOOD BEER, ROB!!!!) and oversee this operation??
Don't worry Jean, I am going to pull the box and lube the splines. Jeech!
I had a severe allergy attack this weekend. Just seasonal stuff, but I spent most of it with a handkerchief in hand and Mentholatum on my throat.
Big fun.
Think of all the "near-hits" I've avoided by not being on 2 wheels for 2 years!
Is your cat OK?
Feed the cat, Rob.
empty the sand box.
Hey, You DO take nice pictures for posting...someday I'm gonna learn to do THAT!
I can take the pictures....it's the posting part I just cannot get into.

If you're having "near-hits" you are doing something very wrong.
