I am sure its very interesting and they probably have a speakeasy and lots of "inside" jokes about lumens or whatever, but I think hanging out on a lighting forum would be one of the last steps before being put on suicide watch. Not at all cool like us and our old motorcycles.

Any time humans engage in some activity with other like-minded souls, there is potential for associations, collectors, clubs, and competitions.

It's a vital part of my industry as well (theatre lighting). We would get pretty worked up about light bulbs except that they aren't bulbs.


A favorite joke in the theatre is this:

Q. How many lighting designers does it take to change a lightbulb?

A. THEY'RE LAMPS!!!!!
